I have been meaning to ask about this and am glad there is now a forum to do so. I am curious whether there are any limitations to having a Now Playing integration with Apple TV. I ask because I have used other products, such as Roomie Remote, that are able to detect what is currently playing on Apple TV and display it within their movie poster app. Additionally, my Unfolded Circle Remote 3 is able to show on the remote screen what is playing on my Apple TV as well.

Apple is a very closed source ecosystem. I believe Rommie is an Apple based remote system that works only with Apple products on their ecosystem. I would love to get ATV integration but I don’t think Apple would grant us access to their API. 
I wonder how Unfolded Circle is getting the data. Its a remote and it pulls in now playing and the time elapsed. Its not an apple product.
